Truck Parking USA, an online and mobile platform for truck parking facilities, has a new integration partnership with commercial truck routing software company ProMiles.
The Truck Parking USA app, for iOS and Android, now includes a location-based fuel pricing tool for truck drivers to view current retail diesel prices at thousands of truck stop locations. The app also considers routes with appropriate commercial vehicle capacities.
According to the 2017 Critical Issues in The Trucking Industry Report from the American Transportation Research Institute, truck parking and transportation infrastructure are among the top ten most challenging issues facing the trucking industry.
The app has been tried and tested by a community of over 140,000 truck drivers. Its truck parking locator allows drivers to find available parking spots before pulling over.
Drivers receive access to parking locations and can filter by amenities and security features that are most important to them. The app also provides reviews written by a community of truck drivers who can report free parking spots near them.
“We are thrilled to integrate ProMiles software into our platform,” said Niels de Zwaan, managing director at Truck Parking USA. “Through partnerships like this, we are able to elevate the driving and routing experience for truck drivers around the globe. Our mission is to continue expanding our offering so drivers are able to take the safest and most efficient trips possible.”
“Working with a team with the infrastructure experience they have shown in Europe undoubtedly will enhance (Truck Parking USA’s) capacity here in North America,” said Tony Stroncheck, president of sales and marketing for ProMiles Software. “When I look at the advances that have been made in 25 years we’ve been at this, I am eager to see what innovations we will see in the next few years.”
Truck Parking USA parent company PTV Group was acquired by Porsche Automobil Holding SE in October 2017. PTV Group is a provider of software for traffic planning and management as well as transport logistics. Porsche SE will continue to operate the business independently.
